Mr. Roño is a corporate dude trying to make the most out of the short weekends by being a tourist in the Philippines, armed with his Lonely Planet Philippines guide (seriously!). His favorite childhood memories always involve Disney World and Six Flags in the US. He is fascinated by the food in Caracas, Valenzuela; the lifestyle of Cape Town, South Africa and has lived in Kobe, Japan for 4 months.
Mrs. Roño is a free-spirited environmentalist who was once featured as Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Fun Fearless Female. There is not one region in the Philippines that she has not set foot in. She finds joy in collecting flight mileage from airlines and has experienced living for one month in Bangkok, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and lived in Uganda, East Africa for 10 months in 2007 right before getting married to Mr. Roño.
Mr. and Mrs. Roño both discovered mountain biking by accident on one of their earlier trips to Boracay, where they scaled Mt. Luho on a rented bike to see the overlooking point of the island. That year was 2003. Mountain-biking became a weekend hobby and eventually so did running and bird-watching. They would love to start diving in the near future.
Our Travel Footprints
Mr. and Mrs. Roño got engaged in the historic city of Kyoto, Japan and got married more than a year later at the equally historic San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila in the Philippines.
The combined travelling experience of the Roños has already brought them everywhere in the Philippines and to these countries so far: Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal (new!), Rwanda, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Thailand, USA, Uganda, Venezuela, Vietnam and still counting!
